Why is it that people feel the need to be like everyone else? Everyday people sacrifice what they believe in for the sake of “fitting in”. As Israelites we should never want or need to fit in because we have always been meant to stand out. And yet many of us still find ourselves in the mentality of wanting to be like everyone else due to the fear of being taunted, slandered, or looked at differently by others. But what does the Bible say about such situations…
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake” Matthew 5:11
Christ says that you are blessed when people victimize you for being different and adhering to the laws of the Bible. There is nothing wrong with keeping the laws, statutes, and commandments of the Most High and yet many may find themselves still being mistreated for doing so. But why is that? The answer to this question can be found in John 15:19.
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you”.
Christ informs us that the world hates us because we follow after him and the Most High, and in doing so we forsake the wickedness and foolishness that is highly influenced, promoted, and required by the world. He also tells us in John 15:20
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is no greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you”.
Christ was hated, slandered, and even put to death for the sake of this word, and if he went through hell, there is no doubt that we will go through persecution as well. But we need to remind ourselves that the tribulations we go through for the word is nothing Christ hasn’t already been through at a much larger scale.
Stay strong in the faith and continue to abide in the law of the Most High.
1Peter 5:8-9 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walkout about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world”.
Continue to stay rooted in the Most High and His laws and don’t allow yourself to be lead astray by Satan (1Corinthians 15:58) because when we reside completely in the Most High nothing and no one can come up against us for
“If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
So standout and be that person that keeps the laws of the Most High. Fitting in isn’t all it’s cracked up to be but standing out and keeping the laws of the Most High, that will bring you eternal life.
