A New, But Clean Start

Spring, the true and holy beginning in the cycle of all seasons. The season in which the earth is blooming from its natural recovering season winter. A time of “out with the old and in with the new.”  Most importantly, a joyous and exciting time of the year for Israelites. We should all take a moment to reflect and thank our Father in heaven for our growth and seeing us through another year in truth which I’m sure was nothing short of trying.

The spring time is extremely busy for us all, especially for us sisters!  We are like busy bees buzzing around preparing for a true spring cleaning mentally, physically, and spiritually. The special effort we put into the preparation of this New Hebrew Year will set the tone for the rest of the year. Since, we will be purging our spirits from sin (Leaven), why don’t we do our bodies a physical favor of ridding it of toxins we have accumulated during the year.. A good old tune up in the form of a detox or cleanse is a perfect way to start! I know what you are thinking….here she goes AGAIN…busting everyone’s bubble!  But before you go on to the next article, just hear me out.

Being that we sisters are the backbones of our men and pillars against death for our loved ones, it is important to understand that we can’t help or take care of everyone else if we don’t take care of ourselves first. We all have busy lives with a lot on our plates daily that must get done. But wouldn’t you rather get things done feeling great versus getting it all done feeling like you never slept in your life, energy level on E, fatigued and groggy, unexplained headaches, emotional, unable to focus or brain fog, sickness, basically feeling like a mess (speaking from experience)!

A detox or cleanse can help wash that all out and leave you feeling cleaner and much healthier to take on the rest of the year. Sisters, it’s time for a cleanse, so our bodies can function efficiently (at a SUPER level). Not only do we owe it to ourselves, but we owe it to our families and our nation who need us to be a healthier vessel!  So, LETS GET STARTED!

What is the Difference between a Cleanse and Detox?

A detox helps to remove the foods and food categories that are not good for us internally. It takes out the substances that slow you down, make you sick, clog your sinuses, cause gas and bloating, make you retain unnecessary weight and leave you feeling tired and foggy. Who wants any of that?! Sometimes the things we’re removing are foods and sometimes they’re more than foods . . . behaviors or beliefs, patterns and habits that are holding us back. The protocol all depends on the intent of the detox. After the bad is removed, you “replenish,” with good so you can feel great.

A cleanse is all that and more. You are not only removing the substances that leave you feeling high and dry in the ways I mentioned above, but you are also going in a bit deeper and doing an organ detoxification and cleanse. Food, supplements, herbs and practices are used to get those internal organs functioning at their best. And because many of our organs are so easily regenerated, the healing you bring through these intense cleanses serves you well throughout the entire year! WHOOP, WHOOP!

Organ Cleansing Order

When it comes to a full body cleanse, your body tends to have a mind of its own. Thanks to our Father in Heaven, our bodies are designed to naturally heal itself starting with the inside (internal) and graduating to the outside (external). The very first organ that should be targeted is the colon. Getting that gut CLEAN is extremely important before starting any full body cleanse.  The health of your small intestine is key to improving your immunity, conquering your allergies, boosting your mental health and optimizing the delivery of all the nutrients you take into your body every single day. Cleansing your gut is the first step to remedying almost any health issue.

Even though your body was designed to sense what organ needs to be cleaned next, you can target organs in a certain order with herbs or homoeopathic remedies. You cannot force your body to cleanse in any particular order. When the cells of your body have enough energy, vitality and the right nutrients present, they will cleanse naturally. The organs with the most vitality will cleanse first.

Types of Cleanses

There are plenty cleansing plans, but one that is suitable for you may not be suitable for another. This is very important for those that are diabetic or have other health issues and/or taking medication, and for sisters that are pregnant and/or breastfeeding should always consult with your doctor first.


  • Raw Food Cleanse

  • Juice Cleanse

  • Herbal Cleanse

A body cleansing or detox plan that includes specific foods and nutritional supplements that support liver detoxification will help the kidneys detox as well. A detox diet that involves raw food like fresh vegetable and fruit, and vegetable juicing supply the nutrition needed for the cells to detox. The sheer volume of nutrients and vitality that is supplied by the body cleansing diet literally forces the toxins out of the cells.

Certain fruits or vegetables are known to help certain organs so use them to target those specific organs. For example, beet juice or radish juice is usually recommended for the liver. While cleansing or detoxifying you want to avoid the following.

  • Caffeine

  • Alcohol

  • Processed foods of all kinds

  • Artificial colors

  • Sugar

  • Hydrogenated oils

  • Vegetable shortening

  • Margarine

  • Excessive carbohydrates

  • Breads that contain yeast

  • Dairy products

  • Eggs

  • Meat

  • Legumes

  • Grains

  • Wheat

  • Gluten

  • Nuts

  • Seeds

  • Refined salt

The purpose of cleansing is to reduce the stress and toxicity on the body so that it can heal itself more easily. This is the reason why these food should be avoided. They produce more toxins in the body, and are harder to digest. I have yet to come across a cleanse that allows consuming of anything more than raw fruits and vegetable only. Of course they can be consumed in any form, but must be raw. When detoxing, as I mentioned above, you are simply replacing the unhealthy with the healthy, for example: less meat and more fish or complete and incomplete proteins, less carbohydrate and more vegetable, less sugar and more natural sweeteners etc.

Cleansing and Detox Symptoms

Cleansing the body is NOT easy, the body will experience some not-so-great symptoms during, but it’s all for a better outcome. Some of the possible symptoms include:

  • Diarrhea

  • Nutrient deficiency (for longer cleanses)

  • Metabolism slowing down (truly, you should be eating 6 to 8 times per day, this includes snacks and meals)

  • Overeating (after the cleanse), leading to weight gain

  • Dehydration

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • Nausea

  • Headache

Mediation helps amazingly while experiencing such symptoms! Calling upon the Father and our savior Yahawashi can’t top any other form of relief during anytime, but meditation and applying your faith is extremely important during these times.

“30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~Isaiah 40:30-31

Positive support from loved ones matters greatly too, and preparation makes a smoother cleanse and detoxification experience. Stay hydrated and get much rest. You can even choose a “why,” the wonderful reason behind why you are cleansing or detoxifying. Write it down and post it where needed. It may seem silly, but trust me it does work. It is also helpful to work with your doctor or health practitioner so that you can cleanse safely without causing more stress to your body.


  • Eliminates undigested food, toxins and even unknown parasites from the body

  • Stimulates the body’s elimination systems

  • Cleanses not only the digestive system, but all systems of the body

  • Afterwards you may feel more energized

  • You may lose weight

  • When your body is clean on the inside, the result is often glowing on the outside

  • The body regains its ability to heal itself

  • A stronger person with an improved understanding of your own body

  • A positive attitude

  • Renewed healthy habits

  • A changed and positive outlook

Cleansing and detoxing is a first step to a healthier you. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn about your body and what it needs to do to feel better. After the cleanse, keep up a nutritious eating regimen.  Always prepare ahead of time, so you’ll have what you need at your fingertips versus just grabbing anything to satisfy you temporally. Of course, this is not to say you will never have your pastrami sandwich or chili cheese fries ever again, but you should be in control of what you fuel your body with regularly. Make junk food an every once in a while treat! Don’t wash out all the effort it took to cleanse your body of toxins to re-eat them afterwards. Do your body a favor now and it will thank you for it later!

  2. Shalam sister. I’m curious to know the very first step to begin a detox?? Do u take any supplements or just raw veggies?

    • Shalom Sister! I’m so glad you want to undergo a detox! It is a milder approach to riding the body of toxins.

      I would first decide for how long I am willing to detox, and how extensive. If I were to decide to do a sugar detox for example I would literally cut out all sugar from anything I eat and drink. In its place I would eat and drink more fruits and vegetables that are naturally sweet. I would also stay away from or throw out processed foods like cheese, boxed or packaged, bottled, frozen meals etc. (they have added sugar) during the period of detox (eating these food during will defeat the purpose of the detox).

      It truly depends on you sis, what you want to detox and why. Remember, a detox is leaving the bad things behind to replace with good things, things that are nutritious. Supplements are great, but are hard to find because they are likely to have unlawful ingredients within. A woman’s supplement would be best because it is formulated especially for us and what we need. I found a vegan multivitamin at whole foods that was great, but shortly after buying them it was time to clean all leaven from our dwellings. I will be buying them, so I will get the exact name for you (I only remember what they look like :/ ).
