Natural Beauty Recipes
Using Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the meat of the coconut. Coconut oil is high in saturated fat which allows it to last up to two years without spoiling. This allows your natural remedies and recipes to last a little longer in the fridge and on the shelf. The recommended brand of coconut oil is Spectrums Organic Virgin Coconut Oil unrefined for medium heat. Unrefined oil is highly recommended because it is the most natural approach, it is unbleached and has the full flavor and smell of coconut oil. The following remedies and recipes will include coconut oil as well as other natural ingredients.
The name of the first teeth whitening remedy (#1) is called oil pulling. This remedy works with almost any oil such as, almond, olive, and sesame oil. Since coconut oil is high in saturated fat, it can easily absorb germs and bacteria from your mouth and even stains from your teeth. Oil pulling can be replaced with mouthwash because of its bacteria absorbing abilities. The second remedy (#2) doesn’t have a name but also has teeth whitening abilities.
Remedy #1 – What you’ll need:
This remedy is fairly easy, the only thing you’ll need is coconut oil.
Put approximately 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around like mouthwash.
Make a squeezing or pulling motion with your cheeks to further whiten your teeth and cleanse your mouth.
Do this for about 10-15 minutes 1 to 2 times a day
Remedy #2 – What you’ll need:
Coconut oil and baking soda
The goal of this remedy is to make a paste with your ingredients by adding 1 part coconut oil and 2 parts baking soda. 1 to 3 times a week replace the paste with your tooth paste and brush as usual.
Coconut oil is great for moisturizing the skin by helping to seal moisture into the skin, keeping your skin nice and smooth.

What you’ll need
Your favorite conditioner
The amount of ingredients depends on how much hair you have; the following will be for short to medium hair. Take about ½ cup of your favorite conditioner, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of honey, ¼ cup of coconut oil, ¼ cup of olive oil, and ¼ cup of mayo. Mix in a bowl and let chill in the fridge for at least 45 minutes. Dampen hair then apply deep conditioner and hair mask all over. Let it sit for at least 1 hour. Rinse first with cold water then shampoo hair as usual. The conditioner is the base of the deep conditioner and hair mask. The eggs provide cholesterol to help strengthen brittle hair. The honey makes your hair shiny. The coconut oil and the olive oil locks moisture in after dampening your hair. And lastly the mayo provides protein and also keeps the water and oil in your hair after washing it.
