The Three Little Pigs

I am sure you are familiar with the story of the three little pigs. I mean most people are right? Well, what if I told you that, that same story is paralleled to a couple of different parables that Christ spoke of as it concerned the kingdom? And many principles you learn through these various folklore, and fairy tale stories have scriptural principles. Would you like to see them through another perspective? Well, let’s dig in.

“Once upon a time, an old mother pig had three piglets. Unfortunately, she didn’t have enough food to keep them, so she sent them out to seek their own luck.”

Galatians 4:26 KJV

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Jerusalem is the mother of us all. But we were cast out because of our sins. So the mother “pig” could no longer afford to keep us. And now our land has become abominable and unclean. Just as we have become abominable and unclean; hence pigs.

Isaiah 1:4 KJVS

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

Isaiah 1:7 KJVS

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

So we have been cast out trying to seek our own way and build toward something better. Or at least what we believe will protect us from harm.

“When the first pig went out, he met a man with a bundle of straw. The pig said, “Sir, please give me the straw so I can build a house.” The man gave him the straw, and the pig built a house out of straw. Soon after, a wolf passed by. He knocked on the door and said, “Hey, little pig, let me in.”

The pig replied, “No, no, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.”

“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in,” said the wolf. And so he did. He huffed and he puffed, and he blew the door down. And he…ate the pig.”

So what happened? This pig; this Israelite, went to build but he chose to build a house made up of straw. Not realizing that straw is not a sound building material. If it rains heavy, it will get soaked and the house will collapse. If the wind blows hard, it will get carried away with the wind. And if there is a fire, it will burn. And to not see this prior is blindness.

Proverbs 14:12 KJV

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

A path or direction can seem right or adequate but the end of that road will only lead to your spiritual destruction and may even cost you greatly in this world as well. The loss of time, finances, or both. Which is why we must stay circumspect.

Romans 11:25 KJV

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

You can’t see that the path you’re walking and how you are choosing to build is not reasonable. It’s not sound. Yet you trust and believe in it to protect you.

Romans 10:2 KJV

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

You have a desire to build but you’re not building right. So ultimately you will perish by the wolf.

1 Peter 5:8 KJVS

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

We understand that the devil is doing what he can to destroy us.

But let’s see what the next pig does.

“The second pig met a man with a bundle of sticks. The pig said, “Sir, please give me the sticks so I can build a house.” The man gave him the sticks, and the pig built a house out of sticks.

Then the wolf came by and said, “Hey, little pig, let me in.”

Same with the pig that chose to build his house with sticks, why?

Psalm 127:1 KJV

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

You are choosing all of these materials but none of them are suitable or adequate for what you need to build and why you are building it. You can use, paper, sticks, straw none of that is going to work because you are missing a key element… Righteousness.

Isaiah 30:1 KJV

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

We keep seeing rinse, wash and repeat. I build, yet Satan tears me down and devours me. Why? You are choosing to cover yourself and protect yourself with a covering that is not of The Most High. So when tribulation arises, your defense won’t last. You will convert from one religion to another, yet, none of those will save you because they all lack the very foundation you need to stand strong.

Matthew 7:26-27 KJVS

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Your seeing foolish people begin to build and because they did not take the time to set a good foundation of righteousness. It was easy for Satan to come in, even at the forbearance of some of our people because you did not fortify your mind; your spirit to be able to resist him and stand against him.

1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

You are supposed to be the temple of The Most High God and his spirit is supposed to be dwelling in you. But how are you building your temple?

2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

But if you’re not in agreement with his spirit through righteousness and you’re not on one accord with him, then now your temple has become a dwelling place of evil spirits. You’re not protected by his power.

Proverbs 25:28 KJV

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

You might as well be a city without walls. Evil spirits can come and go as they please. But let’s get the last pig.

“The third pig met a man with a load of bricks. The pig said, “Please, sir, give me those bricks so I can build a house.” The man gave him the bricks, and the pig built a house out of bricks. Then the wolf came to him and said, “Hey, little pig, let me in.”

“No, no, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin,” replied the pig.

“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in,” said the wolf.

So the wolf huffed and he puffed and he huffed and he puffed and he huffed and he puffed, but he couldn’t blow the door down.”

The wolf failed to blow down the house. Why?!?

Matthew 7:24-25 KJVS

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

It was founded upon a rock. The Most High and Christ were at the center of this temple, so it could not fall by means of the previous pigs temples. It wasn’t Toyota “We make it easy.” It was Ford “Built Tough.”

The crazy part is, is that the wolf didn’t stop there. He didn’t give up. He realized he had to try harder and try different methods to get the pig. But the pig was a step ahead of the wolf.

“When he realized he couldn’t open the door by huffing and puffing, he said, “Hey, little pig, I know where you can find a nice field of turnips.”

“Where?” asked the pig.

“Oh, it’s at Mr. Smith’s house. If you’re ready tomorrow morning, I’ll ring the bell, and we’ll go together to get turnips for dinner.”

“That’s a great plan,” said the pig. “I’ll be ready. What time do you plan to go?”

“Six o’clock,” said the wolf.

So, the pig got up at five o’clock and went to get the turnips. He was back before six. Then the wolf came and asked, “Hey, little pig, are you ready?”

“I’m all ready,” said the pig. “I’ve already been and come back, and I have a nice pot full of turnips for dinner.”

You have to be smarter than the wolf. One of the key ways in doing that is to first realize you are dealing with a wolf.

John 10:10 KJVS

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

If a thief is coming, they have but one goal and are willing to do what is necessary to achieve it. I am coming to steal, and in the process I might have to kill and destroy to do it.

“Then, of course, the wolf became angry again and swore that he would now really eat the little pig, and that he would come after him through the chimney.

When the pig saw what he was planning, he quickly hung a water kettle over the fire. And just as the wolf came down the chimney, he took the lid off the kettle. The wolf fell right into the kettle. The pig immediately put the lid back on, let the kettle boil, and… ate the wolf as a delicious dinner. And after that? He lived happily ever after!”

2 Corinthians 2:11 KJVS

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

We aren’t ignorant or at least we shouldn’t be. We shouldn’t be unaware of the devices Satan uses to cause us to fall. So we should be able to strategize and plan to avoid the snares of the devil and stay on the right path. Because even when you have fortified your temple you must remember that Satan can find a way for you to step outside.

Matthew 7:21 KJVS

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

We can’t get confused. We think just because we call on The Most High that he will answer. Or that he is obligated to help us. Yet, you never understood that the relationship is conditional. You have a part to play. And based on your part it will determine how The Most High moves concerning you.

Matthew 7:22 KJVS

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

You could have a ministry. Meaning works that you do in God’s name. Need you be completely in the world or a lukewarm Israelite.

Matthew 7:23 KJVS

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It means nothing if you have not repented and you are not applying the word sincerely on a day to day basis.

James 1:22 KJVS

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
