In the Beginning was the Word

John 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Some have a difficult time wrapping their heads around John chapter one due to this verse. But the first thing we have to understand is this…

Hosea 12:10 KJVS

[10] I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

Similitudes are often used to describe many things in the scriptures. But not to worry, for the scriptures give answer through precepts as to what is being conveyed. So we will break it down line upon line and precept upon precept.

John 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The first bit of information we are given is, “In the beginning…” Okay, what beginning are we talking about? The beginning of this chapter, book, the Bible? This is dealing with the beginning of creation. Before mankind or the earth was.

Genesis 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:26 KJVS

[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

This was no translation or copywriter error. THIS is the “beginning” made mentioned of in John. And was understood by our forefathers that The Father had a Son which is why they are speaking in the plural sense.

John 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Notice, it said, “In the beginning was the Word.” Why would the scriptures here decide to use “Word”?

Revelation 1:1 KJVS

[1] The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Revelation 19:13 KJVS

[13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

“Word” is used as a clue to identify who is being spoken about. Revelation is about the revealing of Christ and what he is going to do and what is going to happen according to the Fathers will. This lets us know that the person being spoken of symbolically as the “Word” is the same one we identify as Jesus Christ. And he was their in the beginning.

John 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Not only was Christ in the beginning, he was right their present with the Most High.

Proverbs 8:22 KJVS

[22] The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

Before anything we recognize today with bodily eyes was made, Christ was in existence.

John 1:1 KJVS

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

So when we read Genesis 1:1 it is letting us know that the one we thought was God the Father was really God the Son.

John 1:2

[2] The same was in the beginning with God.

From the very beginning of creation he was their.

Proverbs 8:23-29

[23] I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

[24] When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. [25] Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: [26] While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. [27] When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: [28] When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: [29] When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

The one who we know as Jesus Christ, witnessed the expansion of creation. Every step, and every “day” of creation he was present for.

John 1:3

[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The icing on the cake, is that everything that we read in Genesis chapter one and in Proverbs chapter eight that was made and created was all created by the very one the world knows as Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:1-2 KJVS

[1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

God made Christ to be the one who would inherit his creation. And allowed him the ability to create in his stead. We as Israelites were made and created to serve him as he is our head, our ruler and our king. But all honor and glory still goes to the Father.

John 1:14 KJVS

[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The “Word” was made flesh and dwelt among us through Christ coming in the flesh.

Matthew 1:21 KJVS

[21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

This is how Christ came in the flesh and dwelt amongst us. When he was born just as we are born in the human form. Thus John would read, “In the beginning was Christ, and Christ was with the Most High Power, and Christ was a Power.” Christ is a power he is just not the highest power.

John 1:10 KJVS

[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Yatab Yasharahla

Hebrews 2:13 KJVS

[13] And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
