Threesomes
A nightmare for some and dream for others. Is it lawful to engage in a “threesome”? Warning, this article contains graphic descriptions some readers may not find suitable for their children.
So, it may have crossed your mind sometime in your lifetime and even in the truth. While others may have actually engaged in the act. However, is this kinky pleasure in line with what God says is okay? Well, let’s take a look at the word of God.
Leviticus 18:18 KJV
Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
We find in the book of Leviticus that The Most High makes it clear for those that are sincere. You cannot take a woman (that should be your wife under these circumstances) and convince her, provoke her, beguile her or such the like, to get undressed for sexual pleasure while you are involved with another woman in the same room sexually. That, again, under these circumstances should be what we would call today her sister-wife. And that man’s second or additional wife. Anything outside of that realm is considered fornication. But even in a lawful marriage, this act or form of execution, as mentioned in Leviticus, is prohibited.
Now, is God just ruining a man’s fun or sexual fantasy? No, have you taken into account to think why he would prohibit such a thing? Well, take for starters to avoid homosexuality. Many times (not always though) in what some of us are aware of from the experiences of others (or even ourselves) this act often times involves some level of connection or intimacy of all parties involved; even the women. From kissing, touching or oral pleasures of each other, that would lead a woman to be in direct error of homosexual dealings. As one wouldn’t undertake to see the nakedness of another human being outside of their spouse unless it is for medical purposes. Which includes taking care of a child, parent, grandparent or other relative. Unless you have a job that involves you doing such work for others. In which case, it is lawful as the medical requirement is what is needed and makes it lawful as it is not for ones own sexual gratification. God also understands that being more sexually involved or even exposed on that level can lead to an increased level of attraction between the women involved as well. Even if that was not the case or interest at first. It became that. Or at least significantly increases the likely hood.
Secondly, jealousy and envy. One may already be uncomfortable with the idea of a polygynous situation. However, the act of a “threesome” can be more than enough to incite ill feelings. Especially, when one may feel like I was not treated fairly or I did not get my due benevolence in the situation. “The focus is always her.” Now of course these things, as well as the things mentioned earlier above, can happen anyway outside of these circumstances. But we don’t want to do things to provoke it. Furthermore, all of this is to help us meditate on and better understand the “why” in The Most High’s decision. As with every law he made he didn’t just pull it out of a hat. He put time and thought into everything he made and did.
Now for one who is still contentious and reaches a different understanding other than the one I gave. Like, “well that only applies for a wife”. Well, sexual relations are for married individuals. It’s an act that consummates a marriage. Or if one reasons, “technically I’m not vexing her she is willing, it was her idea.” Well, one must reason not only the “letter” of the law but the “spirit” of the law. Does that reasoning align with what you read precept upon precept and line upon line, to where you can say, it is sound reasoning to say otherwise and The Most High God would approve? I cannot.
Romans 1:26 KJV
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Romans chapter one deals explicitly with homosexual acts. Keep in mind that if it takes acts of a woman dealing in a homosexual way and regard them as unnatural and condemns such behavior, I as a brother in the faith or leader could not condone something that seems to fall into a similar category.
Romans 14:12 KJV
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
And I for one, am not going to risk my salvation, nor my wives for a specific act and moment of pleasure I know I can do without. Remember, even if something is not explicitly stated you must be aware of, if it falls under something else that is. As they say, “reading in between the line”.
Galatians 5:19-21 KJVS
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
